Membership for 2023 is now CLOSED

Thank you for your interest in Kauai Search and Rescue. KSAR Membership is open to all persons who meet the requirements. We hold onboarding events twice a year for prospective members, once in the Spring and again in the Fall. Our Spring onboarding event is now closed. If you are interested in joining we will hold onto your application for the following onboarding event.

As a first responder volunteer organization, maintaining public trust and operating safely are our top priorities. For the protection of our members and the communities we serve, all volunteers/members are subject to a criminal background check and must obtain CPR/First Aid certifications. In order to be a field-deployed volunteer/member, you must pass a SARTECH II exam under the National Association of Search and Rescue certification guidelines (NASAR, nasar.org) and complete KSAR's fitness test.

All new members are subject to final approval by the KSAR Board of Directors.
